Reward multipliers are not directly comparable with cash-back percentages. Redemption values and eligible purchases vary. This table does not include every benefit, cost or exclusion.
A useful reward starts with a sensible fit.
Use normal spending
Compare rewards on your usual purchases. Spending extra solely to earn rewards can reduce their value.
Check repayment costs
Read the purchase APR and payment terms. Interest charges can outweigh the rewards you earn.
Value usable benefits
Count travel perks and credits only when their conditions fit your plans. Read booking, enrollment and access rules.
Credit card questions, answered.
Which credit card is best?
The best fit depends on your spending, repayment habits, reward preferences and costs. This page compares six supplied candidates rather than ranking every card on the market. No overall winner is assigned.
Should I choose cash back or travel rewards?
Compare how you prefer to redeem rewards and the value available under each issuer’s rules. Points and miles are not automatically worth the same as a cash-back percentage, and redemption values can vary.
Is a card with an annual fee worth it?
Compare the fee with benefits and rewards you realistically expect to use. Avoid counting a benefit at full value if it requires spending or bookings you would not otherwise make.
Does $0 annual fee mean the card has no other costs?
No. Interest, balance-transfer fees, cash-advance fees, foreign transaction fees and other charges may apply. Review the issuer’s pricing and terms.
Why are welcome bonuses and introductory APRs not shown?
Offers can vary by date and application channel. This page focuses on reward structures and annual fees; use the issuer’s linked page to review the offer and pricing available to you.
How does Citi Double Cash earn 2%?
Its purchase rewards combine 1% when you buy with another 1% as you pay. The second component depends on payment; rewards are earned in ThankYou Points.
Do all grocery purchases qualify for Savor’s grocery rate?
No. Capital One excludes superstores such as Walmart and Target from the grocery-store category. Merchant classification and other exclusions affect rewards.
Does an application guarantee approval?
No. Issuers make approval and credit-limit decisions using their own eligibility and underwriting criteria. Read the application disclosures before submitting.
Can I apply from the UK or another country?
These are U.S. card offerings. Issuers set residency, identification and other application requirements. Living outside the U.S. does not establish eligibility; check directly.
