A $3,000 purchase: time changes the payment target
Illustration only: assume a $3,000 purchase at the start of a promotion, no fees or additional spending, and exactly the stated number of monthly payments available.
12 payments
$250 per month
$3,000 ÷ 12 = $250.
15 payments
$200 per month
$3,000 ÷ 15 = $200.
21 payments
About $142.86 per month
Round up and adjust the final payment to clear the balance.
These are budgeting examples, not issuer minimum payments. Actual payment opportunities depend on billing dates and the promotional end date. If only 9 payment months remain when you make the purchase, the same $3,000 balance needs about $333.34 per month. Allow a buffer before the end date and account for any new spending or fees.

Review the ongoing purchase APR, late-payment consequences and transaction fees. A 0% purchase promotion does not mean the account is free of all charges.
Keep spending planned
Use a repayment budget based on the balance and time remaining. Rewards should support purchases you already intend to make, without increasing your debt.
0% purchase APR FAQs
Which 0% purchase APR card is best?
Compare the time remaining before the promotion ends, your affordable monthly payment, annual fee and other costs. Rewards can be useful, but they should not encourage spending beyond your repayment budget. This page compares three selected cards and assigns no overall winner.
Do all three cards offer 0% introductory APR on purchases?
Yes. The issuer pages checked October 8, 2026 advertise purchase introductory periods of 15 months for Freedom Unlimited, 12 months for Active Cash and 21 months for Reflect, each beginning at account opening. Offers can change or differ by application channel.
Does each purchase get its own full promotional period?
No. These published offers run from account opening. A purchase made later receives only the time remaining before the account’s introductory period ends. Check your statement and issuer disclosures for the exact end date.
Do I still have to make payments at 0% APR?
Yes. Minimum payments remain due each month. The minimum payment may not be enough to clear the balance before the promotion ends. Check your agreement for consequences of missed payments.
Is a 0% purchase APR offer the same as deferred interest?
No. Deferred-interest offers can impose interest dating back to the purchase if the conditions are not met. These cards advertise an introductory 0% purchase APR followed by a variable APR. Read the exact agreement to confirm how interest is calculated.
What happens to an unpaid purchase balance afterward?
The applicable variable APR applies after the promotion expires. Review the issuer’s current rate and payment terms. Plan to finish repayment before the end date when possible.
Does a balance transfer promotion automatically cover purchases?
No. Purchase and balance transfer promotions are separate. This page includes cards only after checking that their published offers explicitly provide 0% introductory APR on purchases. Transfer fees and qualifying deadlines have their own terms.
Are cash advances included?
Do not assume so. Cash advances and cash-like transactions can have separate APRs, fees and interest rules. Check the issuer’s transaction definitions before using the card.
Does $0 annual fee mean there are no charges?
No. Late-payment, cash-advance, balance-transfer, foreign-transaction and other fees may apply. A purchase APR promotion does not waive every fee. Review the complete pricing disclosures.
Can I earn purchase rewards during the promotion?
Eligible purchases can earn rewards under Freedom Unlimited’s and Active Cash’s rewards terms. Reflect’s reviewed product page does not advertise an ongoing purchase rewards program. Rewards do not replace your payment obligations.
Will I qualify for the advertised introductory offer?
Approval, credit limits and promotional eligibility depend on issuer rules. Existing or recent cardholders may be excluded from an introductory offer. Check the application terms; approval does not guarantee a credit limit large enough for your planned purchase.
Can an affiliate application link show a different offer?
Yes. Offers may vary by date and marketing channel. Confirm that the exact application page states 0% introductory APR on purchases, the duration, start date and ongoing pricing before applying.
Are these cards available outside the United States?
These are U.S. credit card offerings subject to issuer residency, identification and underwriting requirements. Check directly with the issuer. Living outside the U.S. does not establish eligibility.
