APY is annualized. It is not the total percentage earned over a shorter CD term. Fees and withdrawal penalties can reduce earnings. Rates offered for newly opened CDs can change.

Before you fund a CD

CD questions, answered.

What is a certificate of deposit?

A CD is a deposit account held for a stated term. Standard term CDs typically offer a fixed rate for that term; withdrawing early can trigger a penalty. Read the particular account agreement.

What does APY mean?

Annual percentage yield expresses an annualized return that includes compounding. An 11-month CD at a stated APY does not earn that full annual percentage over 11 months. Actual earnings depend on the term, balance and account conditions.

Are the rates on this page live?

No. The table is a snapshot checked on October 8, 2026, with each provider’s published rate date shown. Rates offered for new CDs can change. Confirm the rate and terms before funding.

Does no-penalty mean I can withdraw at any time?

Not necessarily. A no-penalty CD may have an initial waiting period and may require closing the whole account rather than making partial withdrawals. Check the selected product’s rules.

How should I compare different term lengths?

Compare the APY and the date you need your money back. Also review penalties, minimum deposits and renewal terms. A longer term is not automatically a better fit or a higher yield.

Is Raisin the bank holding my CD?

Raisin is a platform, not a bank. Review the selected partner bank, custodial arrangements and pass-through deposit insurance conditions. Other deposits at the same insured bank in the same ownership category count toward applicable coverage limits.

What happens when a CD matures?

The provider may renew it automatically unless you give instructions within a specified grace period. Review the maturity notice and renewal terms so you know how to withdraw or reinvest.

Can I apply from outside the United States?

These are U.S. offerings. Residency, identification, age and other eligibility requirements vary. Check directly with the provider before applying.
